Red Shelby GT 500

Every once in a while I score a chance to drive and photograpgh something really cool, today was one of those days. I love this spot down by the Wappoo River and there is some nice twisty roads on the way. One of the most scenic places I know of and one of my favorite places to shoot.

Anyway, to the Shelby, just hearing it roar to life and feeling the click of the short throw shifter as it locks into first gear makes your heart start pumping all the blood in your body at once. With the release of the clutch comes the expectation of an unbridled herd of horses and a runaway stagecoach, when in fact it's quite the opposite. Long gone are the days when alot of horsepower is beyond control like the classic muscle cars of an earlier era, this is a smooth, tame power.

It's also surprisingly nimble, something I did not expect. Obviously I was not on a track and had to obey traffic laws, but got enough time to get sense of performance the Cobra posseses. The sound was intoxicating, nothing like the sound of a handbuilt, supercharged V8.

Truck Full Of Motors

One of the best parts of Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach is the Ford Racing truck that show up with all the performance upgrades available for your project. These are works of engineering art and seems shameful to even mount them and hide them away under a hood were they can't be seen.

Skulls And Flames

Traveling to different car shows you get to see cars that are rolling works of art. My own personal preference is more subtle, but have great respect for the talent and creativity it requires to do that kind of work.

Bugeyes Are Beautiful

There is nothing cooler than a little two seater convertible. Sure they are no the most powerful, the fastest most comfortable cars, but they make up for it in good clean fun.


This was one of, if not the nicest example I have ever seen of this car.

Always Read The Fine Print

If you read my Jeep emotion post then you know my other passion besides photography is building scale radio controlled vehicles. Funny most people would not guess these were models if I didn't write this explaing what they were looking at.

Rain On My Sunroof

Sitting in my car looking up through the sunroof, I was captivated by the drops of water. It was not until later when I got home and uploaded the pics and started turning them did I notice they have an optical illusion quality to them.

Hot Iron

The local Hooters puts on a decent event that attracts a pretty good crowd. Usually, most of the entries are older American muscle, but there are always other interesting things to see.

This day however, it was the most intense dry heat without a hint of a breeze. Even shade seemed like an it was far short of any relief. Took all the pictures I could stand and sought refuge indoors.
